What is the Oregon Outdoor Education Center?

The Oregon Outdoor Education Center is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing year-round outdoor education and leadership development opportunities for Oregon’s youth. Located on 325 acres of beautiful Oak and Pine forest in the Eola Hills, the center offers a serene setting for camps, trainings, ceremonies, and gatherings.

What is the history of the center?

The Oregon Outdoor Education Center, formerly known as the Oregon 4-H Center, has been a haven for youth since 1968. For decades, it has provided clubs and programs focused on belonging, critical thinking, teamwork, and leadership. OSU Extension Services, the previous operator, decided it could no longer manage the facility year-round. The Zack Packard Memorial Foundation, in conjunction with Wildlife Stewards LLC, will assume guardianship as the new operators effective September 10th, 2024. The center serves over 4,000 children, teens, and young adults annually through various organizations, including 4-H, YMCA, and NWESD Outdoor Schools.
