Unique Ecosystems

Owasippe has two watersheds completely contained on the property. Because Owasippe has been under private ownership since 1911, these areas have been kept in pristine condition.

The headwaters of the Cleveland Creek watershed are clean enough to drink. This watershed feeds Lake Wolverine, providing miles of shoreline. This lake is ideal for fishing and has not seen a gas motor in more than 70 years. Imagine fishing from your rowboat and seeing the Trumpeter Swans across the lake or the Bald Eagle fishing along the far shore.
