Joe Sener received his Bachelor of Science degree from Northern Illinois University and is employed as the Vice President of Business Excellence for Baxter International. His business experience covers a broad range of engineering and manufacturing systems from heavy steel fabrication and welding in the nuclear industry to light to medium high volume manufacturing in the fluid power industry.
Joe is a Licensed Professional Engineer and has published several papers in the area of design, analysis and quality management for the military, National Conference on Fluid Power, the Society of Manufacturing Engineers, and ASQ Annual Quality Congress.
In his role as Vice President for Baxter, Joe is responsible for the Business Excellence organization which includes such efforts as Baxter Lean Six Sigma, the corporate organizations of: Data and Document Management, Quality Systems Improvement, Metrology, Sterility Assurance, Reliability Engineering, Product Analysis and Reliability Laboratories and Technology Resources Quality. Mr. Sener is also responsible for coordinating the merger and acquisition due diligence efforts within the Quality and Regulatory Affairs area.
Joe has been active in Scouting his entire life and has been working or attending Owasippe for over 40 years. He is co-founder and Chairman of the Owasippe Outdoor Education Center and Chairman of the Chicago Area Council’s Owasippe Camping Committee. Joe is an Eagle Scout, Vigil Honor member of the Order of the Arrow and recipient of the Silver Beaver Award for Service to Youth.
In 1978 Joe was a charter member of the Board of Directors of the Owasippe Staff Association and would later serve as president of the OSA in 1985. In 2003 he received the Honorary Life Member Award, the OSA’s highest honor.
