Camp Robert Crown

Camp Crown was originally designed for “jamboree cooking.” It consists of 12 campsites with in-site sanitary facilities. Two sites have bunkhouse structures providing housing for 30. Food service is provided to the campsites in “hot packs” with food prepared centrally at the Administration Center in the Food Prep industrial kitchen.

Crown has a camp office large enough for feeding the section camp staff and has an integral camp trading post. The aquatics area is a 275,000 gallon pool, and boating facilities are at the Crown boat docks on Lake Wolverine. Crown has a separate field sports range for rifle, shotgun, black powder, and archery use.

The capacity for Camp Robert Crown is approximately 1,500 over a six-week camping period. Crown is currently used as the base camp for Manistee Quest and the Crown High Adventure Base. This program provides a high adventure hiking and canoeing opportunity through connection with the North Country Trail system (www.northcountrytrail.org).
