The Administration Center Complex consists of a number of service areas on 50 acres central to the property operation. These areas include Gray Staff Village, Food Prep, Snack Bar, Trading Post, Administration Offices, Maintenance Shop, Health Lodge, The Owasippe Museum, and two ranger residences.
Gray Staff Village is a group of 19 cabins used for married staff housing during the summer camp program. These cabins are heated and winterized with hot and cold running water, indoor bathrooms, and kitchen facilities. They can easily sleep four. This area is a short walk across the road from Ad Center.
Our industrial kitchen is capable of meeting all the individual food needs during the summer periods. The food is prepared in the kitchen at Food Prep and then transported to the dining halls or campsites in hot packs. Food Prep currently prepares food for 900 people per meal.
The Snack Bar and Trading Post are part of a central customer service building with a light service fast food location and Camp Trading Post. This building includes two warehouses, loading docks and storage rooms.
The Maintenance Shop facility is a four-bay maintenance facility and central ranger dispatch. It is the focus of the long-term maintenance plan. The Administration Offices consist of a number of offices and a meeting room. Our Health Lodge is a multi-bed facility including isolation rooms and examination rooms.
The Owasippe Museum contains some of the rarest memorabilia of Scouting including pictures of some of the early reservation directors, patches and pictures of current and former staff. In addition, this museum contains priceless uniforms and artifacts from the earliest days of Scouting in the United States. There are also two permanent ranger residences at Ad Center.
